Diagnostic Face 3D
Baptised Revelation 3D ® , the concept is based on an innovative technology reconstruction and visualisation of 3D images, says Dr. Hervé Raspaldo , surgeon of the Face and Neck. It is a valuable diagnostic and analytic tool providing personalised and precise results, in perfect harmony with the needs of each patient. Its use is very simple. One sits facing a device with six cameras positioned in V (two on each side and two front). Within seconds, six pictures are taken, which give rise to two reconstituted images (one color and one black & white). They are displayed like masks of the patient to the computer practitioner, who with one click, can rotate and orient. The black and white is particularly interesting. It shows the inequalities of the skin surface, the subcutaneous structures, and the elevations and depressions of the face. This mapping helps the physician to better identify the areas that need to be corrected and to accurately assess the depth of loss of volume from the cheeks, the extent of dark circles, or a lack of nasal cartilage.

PAULINE, 54 YEARS
“THIS IMAGING 3D PERMIT ME TO THINK DIFFERENTLY ABOUT MY FACE”
“For about four years, I thought my face appeared sad, featureless. I made an appointment with a cosmetic surgeon who advised a facelift. I did not expect at the outset. I thought hyaluronic acid injections in cheeks would have given me a youthful look, but the doctor was adamant that this treatment would not be appropriate. Disappointed, I decided to stop everything. But few months ago, a radiologist friend told me about 3D images, to see all the contours of the face. Out of curiosity, I went to see the doctor she recommended.
“After extensively studying my face, he set me opposite a small camera. Some flashes, and in a few minutes, two photos appeared on the screen of his computer two photos, one of which is amazing: my face like a mask moulded in clay. I seem to see me with somebody else’s face! The doctor showed me the density of my cheekbones, which he is quite correct. However, my temples were significantly hollow and the bony structures very evident. He told me that by injecting hyaluronic acid in these areas, my face would seem younger. Having never considered this treatment, I need time to think. Eight days later, I decided to proceed.with injection of a slightly viscous hyaluronic acid to fill my temples. The result was instant and subtle: my features appear immediately rested, my eyes are more open. A year has passed since that meeting, and the effect lasts. This 3D imaging has allowed me to think differently about my face, and to receive a personalised treatment. I am delighted to have avoided a facelift. I looked myself, only better! ”

PRACTITIONER OPINION
“It is often difficult for a patient to properly verbalise her expectations. Pauline was convinced that her face was not balanced from loss within her her cheekbones. With 3D imaging, she saw that her sad appearance was not due to lack of volume in her cheekbones, but due to her emaciated temples which insidiously evoked old age. The doctor has then offered her an appropriate treatment, which she had never thought of : Injections of hyaluronic acid on the temples. This example clearly shows an important role of 3D imaging; it is an extremely useful tool for information and dialogue. It could, in the future, avoid the disappointment of patients asking for treatments that do not solve their real problem.”

YASMINE, 48 YEARS
“THIS TECHNIQUE HAS SHOWN THE ASYMMETRY FILLING OF MY DARK CIRCLES”
Six months ago, a cosmetic doctor filled the deep circles under my eyes that gave me a sickly air, with hyaluronic acid injections. But recently, I found again that something was wrong with my lower eyelids, but could not say exactly what was the problem. I made an appointment with another doctor who didn’t know me, because I did not want to speak of the previous treatment , in case he refused me another injection session, being too close to the first. After he questioned me and examined my face, he offered me to take pictures in 3D. I agreed, not at all convinced of the usefulness of a technique which, for me, was morphing.
“I’m seeing on the screen really bluffing photos! Under my right eye the hollow was filled harmoniously , while the left seems too full. The doctor told me that the subcutaneous structures hint of previous injections with fillers. My lie is discovered! Then he shows me the “wrong” asymmetric filling in my dark circles. The problem is due to hyaluronic acid, which formed small unsightly swellings under the skin. A defect that can be corrected with the injection of an antidote which dissolves the excess hyaluronic acid in a few hours. I hastily accept. Immediately, my eyes are transformed and harmonious. The 3D imaging has established the trusting relationship between the doctor and myself, that I hadn’t previously formed.

PRACTITIONER OPINION
“3D imaging technology has more extensive possibilities than morphing, from a digital image, simulating three-dimensional theoretical results that will be obtained after treatment of aesthetic medicine or surgery. The Revelation 3D concept allows a remarkable investigative work. Taking pictures before and just after the filler injections and a month later, one evaluates, in a reliable and rigourous fashion, the effectiveness of the products, and optimises their use (monitoring, dose selection based on the depth of wrinkles , loss of volume and / or cartilage). Being a mathematical image reconstruction, the information provided is very accurate. It can thus detect a slippage that may have occurred during an injection of hyaluronic acid or fat. On the patient side, as noted with Yasmine, it is no longer possible to cheat! Full transparency of previous treatment, is essential for patient safety during injection”
