Endoscopic facelift in Geneva
What is the endoscopic facelift?
In 1998, we created with the German laboratory Karl Storz a new range of surgical instruments specifically for the facelift under video-endoscopy.
This innovative technique for the time is still, 20 years later, very used.
The endoscopic facelift is a video-assisted Facelift which doesn’t require drastic incisions like a traditional facelift. Very small incisions are made, then the surgeon inserts a thin camera device below the surface of the skin. Surgical procedure is supervised on a TV monitor.
The endoscopic facelift is ideal when there is not too much excess skin. It has the advantage to be a non-traumatic operation, to minimize the operative follow-up and to reduce the scars.
Thanks to this process, we will be able to settle for a few small incisions in the scalp to proceed with the repositioning of tissues (muscles, fat, …).
We do not only tend the skin, but we also work on the muscles for a more sustainable result (10 to 15 years) if however we observe a healthy lifestyle, avoid sun and tobacco.
The endoscopic facelift is perfect for frontal lift, temporal lift, eyebrow lift, and eye lift. It allows to permanently correct the lion’s wrinkle, reposition the eyebrows and cheekbones, to find a younger look and almond eyes.
You can also use the endoscopic facelift to treat the lower face and neck to find harmonious curves (minimizing scars, unless there is a large excess of skin).
The operation is performed under local anesthesia potentialised (without intubation) or under general anesthesia. It lasts from 1:30 to 2:00 hours.
There is usually slight bruising and you can feel a tightness the first 10 to 15 days, then return to normal around 3-4 weeks.
