L-polylactic Acid

L-polylactic Acid
(SCULPTRA®, NEWFILL®)

acide polylactique

L-polylactic acid is a synthetic polymer that belongs to the alpha-hydroxy-acid family. It is biocompatible and biodegradable. It works on the deepest layers of the skin, making it particularly interesting for addressing severe volume loss (deep wrinkles and folds that may be caused by aging of the skin). It naturally stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen, thus producing lasting, more natural and youthful-looking results.

An experienced practitioner will be able to determine the depth of injection and the quantity of product to be administered that is suitable for the area to be treated and necessary to achieve the desired results.

The injection is performed using an ultra fine needle and an anaesthetic solution to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for the patient. Some side effects such as bruising or tenderness may be experienced, but will subside within a matter of days without treatment. Results will be most visible after around 6 weeks and may last for up to 2 years. The number of sessions required will vary from 1 to 3 sessions over a 2 to 3-month period, depending on desired results.
